It has been said in many ways...Successful people are ordinary people with an extraordinary amount of determination.
If you have decided to compete in a taxidermy competition and you are not pushing the limits of your comfort zone then you are probably minimizing the true value of the entire effort and possibly defeating the purpose. Competing is an opportunity to have dedicated time to advance your skills (through learning), time that you would probably not have sacrificed in the same way other wise. It requires a high degree of determination and more research and trial than physical effort. Make the most of it...don't just do your "best work" in the range of skills that you are already comfortable with for the sake of validation. Push the limit beyond your comfort zone...your current skills are just a foundation.
Never be afraid to test your limits or you will never know where they are.
